Tri-C Unified Technologies Building

Boulevard Studios provided design services for the redevelopment of the landscape around this large building located on Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus. The design sought to bring interest and texture to the building's hulking geometric form, replacing large, overgrown shrubs with grasses and more compact materials. Ornamental trees interrupt an expansive backdrop, lending softness and shade to otherwise stark elevations, while understory materials provide interest and a more "human scale" at the pedestrian level. The project was a “quick hitter” after the college found the funds to do the work in the late spring of 2016. Boulevard Studios performed a site analysis and prepared a full set of construction documents for the new landscaping and a retaining wall within a week, giving Tri-C ample time to bid the project and have it completed by late summer.
